Zach Shelby

Zach Shelby is a serial entrepreneur, technologist, and angel investor with a deep passion for machine learning, embedded systems, and the Internet of Things. A former VP at Arm, Zach has co-founded and led multiple pioneering companies — including the Micro:bit Foundation, Sensinode (acquired by Arm), and Edge Impulse (now part of Qualcomm).

He has held senior leadership roles at Arm in developer relations, marketing, and IoT technology, and today advises and invests in forward-looking tech startups such as Operant, CubiCasa, Augumenta, Petasense, and Walkia Lighting. Before his entrepreneurial journey, Zach led wireless networking research at the Centre for Wireless Communications and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. He currently sits on the board of the tinyML Foundation, has helped define numerous IoT standards, and received the Nokia Foundation Award in 2014 for his pioneering work in the Internet of Things.
