Haltian is a Finnish technology company specializing in IoT solutions and smart device development. The company is best known for its innovative IoT platforms such as Thingsee, which enables companies to leverage large-scale sensor data for optimizing operations in real estate, industry, and logistics.

In 2020, Haltian entered a phase of strong growth. This required rapid scaling of recruitment efforts and development of HR functions to support the new phase. During the first year, over 30 recruitments were carried out, most of them for technical expert roles. These were filled through both open recruitment and direct searches. Direct search played a key role in a market situation where suitable candidates could not be reached through traditional methods. Alongside recruitment, the collaboration quickly expanded to cover the entire HR function. Notarec provided interim HR leadership, built and documented key HR processes, developed a KPI framework for impact tracking, and implemented structured documentation on the Confluence platform. In addition, Notarec organized leadership training programs to support leadership development in the rapidly growing organization. According to the client, Notarec’s partnership was a key factor in ensuring that recruitment proceeded on schedule and at the required scale – the right talent was found at the right time to support growth. The partnership has continued consistently beyond the growth phase as well. Over the first two years of collaboration, Haltian’s headcount doubled, and its revenue quadrupled. Recruitment became smoother, more accurate, and faster, while the HR function actively supported business goals. The development of HR processes increased transparency and improved the quality of reporting, which in turn strengthened predictability. At the same time, the employer brand was enhanced – this was reflected in more cost-effective hiring, shorter time-to-hire, and increased interest in open roles. The number of relevant unsolicited applications also grew.
