Challenge: Exploring New Avenues for Growth

Founded in 2014, Profilence is a software company based in Oulu, Finland, employing over 20 people. The company develops software solutions for embedded devices—such as smartphones and in-car infotainment systems—to analyze and optimize device stability, performance, and energy consumption.

Nordic Option is a private equity fund that targets growth-stage companies, primarily in Northern Finland. The fund aims to provide a northern alternative to support the growth and internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises.

After receiving an investment from Nordic Option in June 2024, Profilence set out to pursue growth in the automotive industry, where Android-based infotainment systems were rapidly gaining ground, yet the quality of released software showed clear deficiencies.

Solution: Building Partnerships Through Direct Outreach

The fastest route to market growth was identified as scaling through partnerships. Profilence began reaching out to and building partnerships with leading global car manufacturers across Europe, the United States, South Korea, China, and Japan.
The HTGP expert team brought with them 15 years of experience in the automotive sector. Sales channels were developed through the team’s personal contacts, and new connections were also made at international automotive trade shows and sales meetings, including CES in Las Vegas.

Results: Increased Revenue

Following a year-long customer development project, Profilence’s client portfolio now includes strong players such as Unikie (active in Europe and the U.S.), Rightware (serving 50 automotive brands globally), and an upcoming Japanese global partner soon to be announced. As a result of these efforts, the company’s revenue is expected to grow significantly in 2026.
